My brother and I visited here on August 23rd 2023. We took highway 281 north for 3.0 mile of highway 36 till 191 road. Then went west on 191 road 1.0 mile to the monument. This place has a small playground and a small church on property.
Boone’s Lick Muzzleloaders Rendezvous 2023 in New Florance, Missouri. It was HOT but not as hot as last year. Had some great shooters at this event. I believe there were 40+ shooters in attendance this year. I came in 4th in the smoothbore catagory! Looking forward to next years.
We found some free camping just outside of Bear Lake in Northern Utah. There were some ATV’s and Side by Sides driving through the forest roads. That did not stop us from enjoying our time here. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and explore this area. September is a beautiful time to visit!
The Gates of Lodore is at the northern tip of Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado. The Green River flows through this majestic place. There is camp at Gates of Lodore with vault toilets. No hookups though.

Had a great show at the 2022 United Nebraska Muzzleloaders Association Convention in Kearney, Nebraska. Met a lot of new people and seen some old friends I haven’t seen in a while. If you want to see pictures from the 2020 convention click here!
I did pretty well in the Pine Ridge Muzzleloader shoot this fall in Huntsville, Missouri. There was about 30-ish shooters. I came in 2nd place in the smoothbore competition. They had 14 camps set up this time. Even had some people come in just to shoot. This is a small shoot compared to the one they host in the spring time!
