Battery & Solar Setup

Recently I’ve had some people interested in my solar & battery power setup I use to power my radios and sometimes our portable refrigerator in our vehicle.

Morningstar Remote Meter is capable of monitoring a dual battery setup. It keeps track of battery charge maximum and minimum on both batteries as well as amp hours charged to each battery. Holding the two outer buttons will reset all values.

I do use Anderson Powerpole connectors on all my connections to and from the batteries.

Furthermore, I built several of these inline fuses with Anderson Powerpoles on both ends. I can stick these inline with anything I want to run off my batteries. I built several so I have the option of powering more than one thing plus they have different available fuse size configuration.

This is a 10 amp solar charge controller. I mounted it on the outside of my battery box to keep an eye on the charge state.

I purchased two 100 amp hour AGM batteries from Ellis Battery. They were supposed to be top post only but the factory messed up and did top and side post. They sold these to me as a “factory second” for $65 each because of that mess up.
