SignaLink USB

I picked up this SignaLink USB interface while at the Ararat Hambash in Kansas City, MO. I really have been looking at them for a while now. Associated Radio out of Overland Park, Kansas was at this event also and I decided to pick one up and give it a try. I purchased the SignaLink USB and the ICOM 13-pin DIN Accessory Port Connector to connect to my ICOM IC-706. Furthermore, Dan at Associated Radio made sure that I had everything that I needed to pretty much plug and play. Of course there are a few things you have to adjust in your computer to get this to work properly.

Me being the not so technical guy even managed to figure this out on my own. In addition, with a few tweaks on the Signalink I was up and running and doing PSK31 and WSPR  and EasyPal. You can even do a whole bunch of digital radio stuff with this interface. For me I mainly wanted it to do Easypal and WSPR.

There were a couple of jumper wires that needed to be connected and is specific to your brand and model of radio.

Receiving WSPR signals on 20m.

Transmitting on 20m at 5w.

For instance, my 5w very compromised dipole at 12 feet even made signals that were heard in Australia and Africa.
