The replica and marker is located 160 feet east of hwy 24 and hwy 281 in Osborne, Kansas. The real Geodetic Center lies about 12 miles north of Lucas, Kansas and about 10 miles southwest of Tipton, Kansas. The Meades Ranch station is on private land, with no public access. My brother and I visited here on August 23rd 2023. We took highway 281 north for 3.0 mile of highway 36 till 191 road. Then went west on 191 road 1.0 mile to the monument. This place has a small playground and a small church on property.
Boone’s Lick Muzzleloaders Rendezvous 2023 in New Florance, Missouri. It was HOT but not as hot as last year. Had some great shooters at this event. I believe there were 40+ shooters in attendance this year. I came in 4th in the smoothbore catagory! Looking forward to next years.

The fawn is bark tanned and the rest is a 3-4 ounce veg tan cowhide. All is handstitched with linen thread 7-8 stitches per inch. Rolled edge at top of the yoke apron. We found some free camping just outside of Bear Lake in Northern Utah. There were some ATV’s and Side by Sides driving through the forest roads. That did not stop us from enjoying our time here. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and explore this area. September is a beautiful time to visit!
Found a spot just East of Laramie, Wyoming to set up camp for the night. I also got to play Ham Radio and made contact with my friends back in Missouri on 80m. I just threw about 62 feet of wire in the tree and connected it to my Texas Bug Catcher and and tuned it up on frequency with my Nano VNA. Turned on my ICOM 706 and started making contacts!
The Gates of Lodore is at the northern tip of Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado. The Green River flows through this majestic place. There is camp at Gates of Lodore with vault toilets. No hookups though.
