This Pennsylvania pouch is inspired by an example from the Longhunters Sketchbook. The original piece featured a much plainer flap—no cutouts or fraktur tulips—relying instead on simple pinked scallops along the top and welt for its only decoration. With this pouch, I chose to take the design a step further in refinement. No. 115 Sturdy Cowhide Pouch

This sturdy cowhide pouch features a simple interior pocket and a short fringed welt. It is constructed throughout with 3–4 oz cowhide. The strap is made from heavier 6–7 oz cowhide and includes a hand-forged buckle with a keeper. The pouch has been generously aged for a well-worn look and feel. No. 108 D-Shaped Beavertail Cowhide Pouch

Cowhide D-shaped beavertail pouches have that iconic shape that folks easily recognize. This one is lined with red linen and features a small pocket inside. The pouch is fully welted, and the welt is decorated with small scallops that run all around and throughout the bag. A cowhide strap adorns the pouch and is adjustable with a hand-forged buckle.

The fawn is bark tanned and the rest is a 3-4 ounce veg tan cowhide. All is handstitched with linen thread 7-8 stitches per inch. Rolled edge at top of the yoke apron.
