40th Annual Nebraska Muzzleloaders Convention

Finally, my wife and I attended the 40th annual Nebraska Muzzleloader Convention in Kearney, Nebraska this year on January 18th. This convention was held at the Ramada Hotel on the east side of town just off I-80. The show runs for 3 days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Subsequently we were only able to go Saturday. By the time we arrived at 9:30 am it was packed already inside the convention center. Considering that the weather was lackluster. It had snowed the night before and the day before and was wind gusts up to 50 mph. In addition, I was impressed on how many people showed up at this event.

There were a lot of tables set up at this event. Had people from Colorado and Southwest Missouri as well as all parts of Kansas and Iowa also attended.

Nice pair of hunting pouches made by Eddie Rector!
My friend TuTall from Kansas.
I purchased a Wolf Eared Hunter Hood from artist Mat Bergen out of Colorado. The items he handcrafts are amazing!
The legendary hat maker Lil’ Grizz from Kansas. He made my lid and he can make a custom lid for your noggin as well.
Flint striker I purchased from Skab Leatherworks in Nebraska! Yet another handcrafted item.

This convention is something I am looking forward to next year. I think that I will have a table set up in 2021!!! I guess I’d better get to sewing then. Furthermore, handcrafted items take time…
